Gargaar Organization is a humanitarian Non-governmental organization (NGO) that works in Ethiopia Somali regional state delivering essentials and developing opportunities. We have a diverse range of programs that brings life to our mission and adopts to the specific needs of each community in which it works.
EDUCATION
- The pathway to opportunity starts at school, and GcO is deeply committed to ensuring that every child in the Ethiopia has access to an education. Toward this end, GcO pursues a variety of different projects that focus on equipping students and schools for success according to community needs. Projects in Gargaar Organization education program area include construction for schools and colleges, as well as ongoing support for students and teachers. Programs to support the school are ongoing and include scholarships for alumni to continue their studies at the University. level.
LIVELIHOOD
- Through periods of drought and famine, Gargaar Organization ensures that families across the Ethiopia are nourished and sustained. Gargaar extends a helping hand with its livelihood program by providing emergency food baskets and These programs are tailored to meet specific community needs and are influenced by local resources and cultural contexts. This food distribution gives families essential nutrition in times of crisis and allows them time to create proper resiliency plans for the future.
WATER
- Essential for daily life and health, access to clean water is not always a simple proposition for families and communities in the Regions of Ethiopia region (East Africa). In many parts of the region, the lack of adequate infrastructure to meet sustainable water solutions has caused much suffering, not to mention the ongoing cycle of drought and Roofing caused by the effects of climate change. So youth, women and children are often required to walk miles each day to fetch water from the nearest collection point for household and agricultural needs.
HEALTH
- Gargar Organization is dedicated to improving health outcomes in Ethiopia through a number of initiatives aimed at building local capacity and addressing local needs. Projects in this program area have included the construction of a Health Centers, distribution of medical supplies, and implementation of child vaccination and malaria prevention strategies
